The Read/Print Module operates by reading information directly from product via barcode scanner or camera and sending it to the PC. The PC looks up a record by key in the PC’s database. Record data is retrieved based on the key, or a new record is created that indicates a reader and/or lookup failure. Product sensors track the product through the system conveyors. Once at the printer, the software ensures correct record data on product. After printing, if the record key was not correctly read or the record was not found, product is diverted.
